May: Six Word Friday

Hello dear readers and friends for Human In Recovery blog.

As part of my new skill of putting together videos, I decided that today’s Six Word Friday entry would be done in the form of video. I hope you enjoy it.

Flower: Six Word Friday

20130426-014113.jpg

Practicing presence, I notice the beauty
Of the flowers, in my life
I stop to savor, to appreciate
The gifts, the labors of love
Planted in fertile soil prepared by
The author and perfector of faith
Hope and love; breath of life
Fills my heart, spirit and soul

Wave: Six Word Friday

Roaring, overwhelming, waves wash over me
Fear and doubt blind and deafen
Surrounding, engulfing; a wall of grey
Flailing, gasping, choking, I sink under
The heavy guilt of unmet expectation
The storm breaks. Light pierces darkness.
The waters are calm and still
Supported, held steady by unseen hands
Peace and hope flow through me
Drawing me ever closer to shore
I see the banner of love
Waving at me, beckoning me to
Come near, lay down, and rest
A wave of relief and comfort
Cocoons me, making me feel safe
No longer alone, I arrive home.

Hand: Six Word Friday

Would you lend a helping hand?

My friend, Marc, just posted this
He’s taking a risk, reaching out
His hand, asking for help
To achieve his dream. You’ve met
Him here in his Author Interview

A man in many roles, performing
Many tasks: husband, father, friend, pastor
A steward of many talents, sharing
His gifts: teaching, speaking, singing, writing

Help me to help him achieve
A dream he dares to believe

Chill: Six Word Friday

20130208-073303.jpg
Luna caught a chill this week
Then her sniffles spread to me
New revelations made me feel weak
Jade demolished a couch with pee
Rent’s going up, reason to leave
LaLa needs mom, desire to stay
Too much stuff release the cleave
Ran out of ink application delay
This and more hurt my brain
Escaped 100 years to Downton Abbey
Avoided, delayed then succumbed to migraine
Need to chill, cease the crabby
Deep breath, relax, back to bed
I know I can’t, powerless admitted
Let go, let God easily said
Trust that God can, stay committed

Fine: Six Word Friday

20130130-152539.jpg

Fine is not how I’m feeling
My soul’s darkness swirling and seething

A season of cold and bitter
Yet I am not a quitter

Life is dormant. Sun will bring
Hope renewed, flowering in the Spring

Lift: Six Word Friday

20130111-113531.jpg
Love elevates us from the depths
Of our deepest pits of despair
Reaching into the inner unknown darkness
Using a compassionate and empathetic touch
To gently lift down turned chin
Gazing into pain filled, sorrowful eyes
Embracing resistant, fragile, and quaking form
In warm, strong, and tender arms
Offering trusting support where none existed
Immersing, permeating, instilling, enduring love

New Love: Marriage Wishes – Six Word Friday reboot

The wedding was beautiful. The bride
was glowing and gorgeous. The groom
over the moon ecstatic, dapper, hip.
Personal vows committing to love’s choice.
Two flames joined to light unity;
Two souls joined together for eternity.

New: Six Word Friday

New life, new love, new future

May Divine Love mature new love
Filling your lives, hearts and minds
With compassion, joy, forgiveness and acceptance
Teaching and growing patience and kindness
I pray the embers of your
Love burn bright and live forever

Written and dedicated to my son and his bride for their wedding on Saturday, January 5, 2013.

Rest in Serenity: Six Word Friday – Bonus

20121228-110752.jpg

Underlying currents ripple the smoothest surface
Fighting currents churns waters, transforms ripples
Making murky that which was clear
Stop, be still, lean back, rest
Let go the drive to control
Let go the need to strive
Open your eyes and see clearly
Open your mind to think freely
Releasing all fear, doubt, and distrust
Soul receiving the balm of peace
