Knock

I hear the knocking of a

grief held at bay too long.

A not so distant memory of

the loss of innocence’s youthful song.

Trying to gather the shattered pieces

of a life gone so very wrong.

Much to my surprise I discover

my weakest moments made me strong.

Please visit Adrienne at My Memory Art for more Six Word Friday offerings

    1. Thank you very much. Pushing through the weakness can build strength, but weakness is also a sign of temporary exhaustion of strength. I’m glad you stopped by. Sorry it took so long to reply.

    1. Catherine,
Thank you. I appreciate the awards and may eventually get around to doing an awards post. Lots of things going on and I haven’t had the ability to really catch up or discover other blogs in order to share the love and I want to give it the honor it deserves. I appreciate you thinking of me and your encouragement and support.

    1. Adrienne,
I’ve been struggling a bit with the creative inspiration for my writing as I’ve been writing about personal history stuff in preparation for developing a book. I’ve missed writing the Six Word Fridays. Sorry this response was so delayed.

    1. Diana,
I’ve been feeling like weak is what is left after using up all the strong. Thanks for that perspective. Sorry for the much delayed response, too much happening in life and in my head.

      Blessings

  1. Reminds me of two songs: “I hear you knocking,” popularly sung by Dave Edmunds, and “Here come those tears again,” written and sung by Jackson Browne.
